The Simply Scuba Mk1 Dive Torch is a high power 1000 lumen dive torch that is rechargeable and customizable to your needs. Factory sealed you never have to worry about greasing or changing O-Rings, ever. Inside you have a total of nine settings ranging from full 1000 lumens to a power save mode that can run for 48 hours.

Who's the Mk1.0 Light For?

The Mk 1 was specifically designed for the modern diver. Small and powerful, the Mk1 can be very bright when you need to see and be seen, but you don't always need 1000 lumens so we put in a 500 and 125 settings so you can enjoy your night dive without blinding yourself and everyone around you.

Every Diver should have at least one Dive Torch so you can see in dark places and so you can be seen at a distance by others. USB Rechargeable, you can plug in the magnetic charger cable to the same charger as your smartphone or tablet. that way if you're travelling you only have to bring one charger for all of your gadgets.

Two small coloured LEDs tell you everything you need to know about your torch. When you change modes the light tells you what mode you're on and then after that, it changes to how much battery life you have.

Simply Scuba Mk1 Torch - Features

FeatureProduct Specification
Battery Level Indicator
?
Some torches come fitted with a battery level indicator so you know how much power you have left. Most are a colour coded light that gives you a rough idea of how much power you have left but some will estimate your remaining time in minutes.Close
Yes, Colour Coded
Battery
?
Torches require a power source and either have a built in rechargeable battery, removable rechargeable battery or a standard size disposable battery.Close
Built in, Rechargeable, Li-Ion
Beam Angle
?
Narrow beams are great for cutting through low visibility, helping a diver to see further without creating backscatter from the light reflecting off particles in the water. Narrow beams are able to penetrate further and are ideal for looking in openings or under rocks Wide angle beams are best for good visibility and spread the light over a larger area. A larger lit area means that the torch does not have to be continuous moved and are particularly effective on night divesClose

Bulb Type
?
Advances in bulb technology has created a number of different options for light source, each with their own advantages and disadvantage but most today are LEDs. LED - unlike ordinary incandescent bulbs, Light Emitting Diodes don't have a filament that will burn out, and they don't get especially hot. They are illuminated solely by the movement of electrons in a semiconductor material. An LED is a lot more efficient than a filament bulb and also a lot more durable than both filament and HID bulbs.Close

Buoyancy
?
If measured, the buoyancy of the torch is how positive or negatively buoyant the torch is in water. Usually measured in fresh water, knowing the buoyancy of your torch can help with your overall buoyancy and weighting so you can be better neutrally buoyant when diving. Measured in GramsClose

Max Burn Time (mins)
?
The length of time that the torch will provide light at 100% powerClose
90
Max Depth (m)
?
The maximum depth that the torch has been rated to by the manufacturerClose
60
Max Output (lumens)
?
The maximum brightness of light the torch can produce at its highest setting.Close

Switch Type
?
There are a number of different switch types available. Push buttons require the diver to depress a button to activate the torch and change power settings. Many use a magnet on the outside of the body so that no part goes through the body itself but some still do with seals to prevent water ingress. Twist ends, collars and heads are very common. The diver simply twists the bottom cap or head unit to complete or break the circuit. Twist caps usually have a double o-ring to protect the battery and electronics from damage. The disadvantage of a twist cap is that if the diver was to unscrew the cap too much, there is a risk that the torch could flood. The O-Rings also wear with use so prolonged use can result in flooding. Kinetic torches are controlled by motion and are the most water tight solution.Close

Torch Material(s)
?
Torches are usually either a polymer or anodised aluminium for corrosion resistance. Plastic parts are cheaper but more fragile to damage.Close
Anodised Aluminium
Torch Type
?
Whether the entire torch (including batteries) is held in the hand or whether the light unit is connected via an umbilical cable to a seperate battery unit for extra capacity and burntime. Photo / Video Lights have an even beam that floods the scene with light with no hard edges or hotspots so it doesn't look odd or stand out in your pictures. Ultra Violet Lights use a specific wavelength of blue light, not usually Ultra Violet, that excite certain parts of animals that cause them to glow and fluoresce showing unusual patterns that the naked eye cannot seeClose
Handheld
Variable Output
?
Whether the torch offers multiple power levels other than the standard on and off.Close

Small and power packed

What a cracking little torch, easy to charge, bright as a very bright thing with a spread that’s just right (for me), possibly not wide enough for photography but that’s not why I bought it.

Brilliant

Bought this just before flying off to the Maldives.

Fantastic little torch, loads of settings including SOS and strobe. Very easy to charge as the magnetic connector almost flies on, so no O seals to worry about or flooding.

Used it on all my dives for looking in the nooks and crannies during the day but very bright on the night dives, so much so that I had to keep it on the lower setting.

It may not be as good as a canister torch, but for me it will be my primary.

Great bit of kit and highly recommended

Good Enough To Be A Primary Light

Not so long ago 1000 lumens was good for a primary light and it still is for normal recreational use. I've bought this for travel when I need something small and light but bright enough to poke around on a reef or in the odd wreck in the warm Pacific. The battery has easily enough power for a day's diving and the controls are pretty easy to use. The flash and SOS functions are also useful and back home it can still have pride of place on my harness as a back-up to the big cannister. The beam is, I'd guess, about 20 degrees, so OK as a video light and still great for signalling. I was slightly concerned about the magnetic charger connection but in fact the connector leapt at the contacts like a starved shark. It's very secure! So a great product, easy to use and clearly designed by a diver.

Light, solid, perfect!

I bought the torch as a backup torch. Really perfect: light, a lot of different modes, small and the best way of recharging I've ever seen with dive torches.

Definitly recommand this torch!

Simply scuba torch

Great torch, very user friendly. Very bright. Only bad comment would be that the small hole at the base could do with being slightly larger, to fit a split ring for a better lanyard.
