The Scubapro Lift Bag 30kg is a tough and simple bag with an open bottom and screw dump valve on the top. Heavy duty bright white tarpaulin material will keep up with the usual wear and tear and be easily seen in all waters. Strong braided nylon straps are connected to the bag with heat welded loops and a screw gate shackle to attach items.
Who's the Lift Bag For?
Lift bags are an essential piece of kit for any diver who needs to lift heavy items in the water. Used by itself or as a combination you can lift objects up to around 30kg/66lbs using this bag alone or something heavier when using multiple bags.
Mares XR make a closed cell 30kg Bag with a built in LP air line and dump valve that you inflate directly from a BCD or Drysuit hose. If you're looking to lift something heavier than it may be worth looking at the larger 50kg Lift Bag from Scubapro.
Scubapro dive gear is considered among the finest quality dive equipment and snorkel equipment available today and is used by many professional divers all over the world.
Scubapro Lift Bag 30kg - Features
?dSMBs are usually either Closed Cells, Fluted or Open bottomed. Closed Cell buoys are sealed all the way round and can only be inflated orally or with a LPI. Closed cell buoys can only deflate when you pull on the dump valve so they stay inflated. Fluted buoys have an open bottom with a bottle-neck valve that closes itself when the buoy is fully inflated. The open bottom means that you can inflate with an octo or exhaust from your primary but if they don't fully inflate there is a chance that some gas can leak out if you don't keep the line taught. Open bottom buoys just have an open end, usually with weighted panels. Air is free to flow in and out so keep a tight line so the buoy doesn't tip over and empty.Close
?Surface marker buoys come in a variety of types for different uses. SMBs are location marker buoys that are inflated at the beginning of a dive and either towed behind a diver or tied off to an anchor point to let boats in the area know that there is a diver nearby. dSMBs are Delayed Surface Marker Buoys that you take with you on a dive deflated. when you are about to ascend you tie it onto a reel or spool and inflate so it shoots to the surface while you hold onto the reel. Many dive sites and boats require divers to have a dSMB on them on all dives for safety. Lift Bags are specially designed buoys that can be tied onto an object and inflated to lift it to the surface for recovery. Lift Bags are usually high volume buoys and will have a buoyancy rating based on their volume so you choose the right size buoy based on what you are trying to lift.Close
?The overall length of the SMB when inflated so you have a better idea of how tall it will stand out of the water. Close
?Most dSMBs come fitted with a Low Pressure Inflation nozzle, similar to the fitting on your BCD or Drysuit. Simply push the quick disconnect hose from your BCD or Drysuit onto the fitting and the spring loaded mechanism will inflate the dSMB very quickly. The BCD hose does not attach to the dSMB so when it is full it just slides off. Some divers also use these valves to orally inflate the dSMB so their buoyancy doesn't change and they don't have to disconnect and reconnect any hoses in the water.Close
?At the top of some dSMBs you will find a clear pouch that you can roll up messages inside to communicate with the surface and send messages so they can prepare equipment or send help without you needing to surface. These clear pouches can also be used to fit glow sticks or other lights so you can be better seen in dark environments.Close
?Similar to the LPI Inflation, some dSMBs can be inflated by blowing into them but these valves have dedicated fittings that are more comfortable and have lighter spring valves to blow against. These cannot however be inflated with a LPI hose.Close
?At the top of SMBs you can often find reflective tape like SOLAS that makes the SMB easier to spot on the surface.Close
?dSMBs are either Single or Double seamed. Single seamed are a single piece of material folded over and stiched down one side but repetetive use can wear the folded section of material. Double seamed are made from a pair of sections welded and stitched all the way round the edges.Close
