Space Extender IDM
The OceanREEF Space Extender Integrated Dive Mask is a superior full face mask that combines your primary 2nd stage and dive mask into one unit. Replacing the Raptor the Extender is made for the avid diver and adventurer with more accessories and features than the entry level masks. Covering your face you stay warmer and more comfortable as you don't get any of the jaw fatigue you can get with traditional 2nd stages.
The Extender comes as standard with a surface air valve fitted so you don't waste gas on the surface. Letting you breathe through a valve on the side of the mask you can leave the mask on before and after the dive to save gas.
The extender kit frame around the mask acts as a mounting point for cameras, torches and other accessories you may have.
The exhaust tee at the base of the mask allows you to control the direction your exhaust goes, either equally or to one side, particularly useful if you use underwater communications.
The new NACS support is sturdier than its predecessor for a more rigid mounting option for communications. On the right side you can fit the MHA-2 Adaptor which has a clicking, rotating support for any accessory you need.

OceanREEF Space Extender IDM - Features
?All Full-Face Masks will have a one-way purge valve at the bottom, but most will just allow the exhaust to vent in any direction. Some masks have adjustable exhalation, so you can control the exhaust to vent in one direction or increase the force required to open the valve. Close.
?This feature allows the diver to adjust the inhalation setting from the set level and increase the effort required to open the 2nd stage valve to deliver air. Close.
?The venturi control affects how air flows in the 2nd stage. In it's positive position the flow of gas creates a vacuum against the diapragm, helping to open the valve. In it's negative position it will divert gas back against the diaphragm helping to close the valve. It is basically used to help prevent free flowing. Close.
Cold Water Rated
?Cold water has adverse effects on regulators and can cause some to freeze so each regulator combination must be tested during manufacturing for their performance in different water temperatures.
Cold water is defined by EN250 as below 10°C. If a regulator combination cannot meet the performance standards below 10°C then they are only suitable for warm waters.
EN250 / (EN250A >10°C)
To pass the regulator must provide at least 62.5 L/min of air at 50M depth above 10°C. Close.
Cold & Warm Water
?Environmentally sealed 1st stages offer greater protection against freezing when diving in cold water (below 10 degrees C)
Scubapro have a new method of cold water proofing their first stages called the eXtended Thermal Insulating System or XTIS which still allows water into the first stage but the internal parts that come into contact with the water are coated to prevent ice from forming. Close.
?Unbalanced regulators are affected by the pressure in the cylinder, becoming slighty harder to breathe from when the pressure starts to drop.
Balanced regulators are not affected by the cylinder pressure or depth.
Over-balanced regulators achieve unprecedented performance by increasing your air supply the deeper you go providing the best breathe for deep divers. Close.
Head Band Strap
?Holding the mask to your head is a four- or six-point adjustable strap. Elastic Fabric straps are comfortable and don't pull on your hair but can lose their elasticity over time. Silicone straps are stretchy and grippy but can stick to your hair sometimes. Close.
High Pressure Ports
?High pressure ports supply the pressure gauge and wireless transmitters for dive computers Close.
Low Pressure Ports
?Low pressure ports supply the 2nd stages and inflator hoses Close.
?The lower points of the mask strap can be fitted with quick release mechanisms, so you can quickly pull up or push a button to loosen the mask and pull it off fast if you need to. Close.
?Full Face Diving Masks can be fitted with a Surface Air Valve, so you can breathe on the surface without wasting valuable gas. While all can be fitted with a SAV some come fitted as standard. Close.
?All regulators need to be serviced to keep them in working order as the parts inside them age and wear over time and with use. Most regulators need to be serviced once a year or after 100 dives with normal recreational use to replace parts and re-balance.
Some regulators use more modern materials or mechanisms that allow them to extend the servicing interval that can save you some money in the long run. Close.
1 Year - 100 Dives
?The skirt is the seal around your face that stops the water from getting in. Cheaper masks will just have a Thermoplastic that will do the job but harden over time and discolour if left in the sun. Most are Silicone that are soft, create an effective seal and don't discolour quickly. The highest-grade silicone is Hypoallergenic that is purer with few impurities for a crystal-clear skirt that is soft and effective. Close.
?The opening of the top of a full-face snorkel may have one of three openings; Open, Deflector or Dry. Open top snorkels are just a simple tube that allows air to flow in and out freely but will allow water in if submerged. Deflector tops prevent waves from splashing water in but will let water in if submerged but Dry tops will deflect waves and close the top of the snorkel when submerged to stop water getting in only to open again when you surface. Close.
