Shark 9 Knife
The Maniago Shark 9 is a smaller, blunt tip leg mounted knife that has a 8cm long stainless steel blade with a serrated cutting edge on one side and a line cutter on the other. The ridged handle is made from strong plastic and has a hole at the end to allow a line to be fitted to prevent accidental loss if dropped.
The Polymer Sheath has a one handed lock release that is operated by squeezing a tab in towards the knife and pulling the knife out. The knife is supplied with rubber leg straps fitted with quick release buckles but can also be threaded on to two inch webbing if preferred. The leg straps have a maximum length of approximately 41cm.
A Blunt Tip which has two major benefits: Should you miss the sheath when putting the knife away you wont cut your suit (or yourself) with the point. Secondly the blunt end is stronger than a tip for prising or using as a flat head screwdriver.

- Knife Length: 17.5 cm - 6.88".

- Knife Weight: 56 gr. - 1.98 oz.

|Line Cutting Notch|
?Some knife blades include a specially designed notch for cutting most forms of line or thin rope. Line is much easier to cut in a controlled manner when using the notch instead of slicing the line or rope using the sharpened edge of the blade.
?The overal length of the knife, cutter or shears. This length is measured with the sheath in place.
?A serrated edge makes it easier to cut through some materials, acting more like a saw than a straight blade.
?Sheaths are typcially made from either plastic or webbing. Plastic housings offer impact protection and will incorporate a locking mechanism to help prevent accidental lose of the knife. Webbing sheaths are normally supplied with smaller, low profile back-up knifes and cutter and usually use a velcro tab to retain the knife or cutter.
?Standard knife blades are usually available with either a point or blunt tip. A pointed tip holds more a risk of accidental punction of other equipment or injury. A blunt tip reduces the risk of accident damage and is also handy as a lever if you need to pry something open.
