If you have got an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, then this application is a must have for all divers. The London Diving Chamber (LCD) application is a fantastic resource for scuba divers. It gives advice and really easy-to-follow instructions, should you find yourself in an emergency, whether you or a fellow diver has a problem equalising, experiences the bends, gets stung by a jellyfish; or lots of other common incidents that you may come across when on a diving trip. The main feature of this application is it’s Worldwide Decompression Chamber locator. If you or your buddy are suffering from the bends (decompression illness) then this application will use your current location and work out where the nearest decompression chamber to you is and it will even give you directions on how to get there.

The LCD application offers a pre-dive check list that goes through key points to make sure you and your buddy are both mentally and physically ready for your dive. Obviously, if you are not at your best, it is more likely you will incur a problem when diving. Another feature on the app is the extensive A-Z of diving medicine which will help to answer many of your diving medical questions. What’s more, if you can’t find the answer to your problem you can simply send in your question, directly to the doctors at the London Diving Chamber who will get back to you.
