Suunto D4i Novo Dive Computer Review

Suunto D4i Novo Dive Computer

The new Suunto D4i Novo is now available and supersedes the D4i. This is more of a rolling change rather than the big fanfare for a brand new product but I do personally much prefer the new look of the D4i Novo compared to the D4i.

So what are the changes? Well they are all cosmetic this time to give the unit a bit of a makeover and to keep it fresh.

Suunto D4i Novo - Silicone Strap and Colour Matched Housing

New silicone strap which is incredibly soft and comfortable to wear, wrapping around the wrist a lot more smoothly than an elastomer strap does.

Colour matched strap and housing allows a consistent and vibrant colour to be used throughout the whole unit instead of the simple colour inserts found in the original D4i. The initial release colours include Black, Blue, Lime and White.

Suunto D4i Novo - Trim Colour

The plastic buttons have been replaced with metal versions with a polished finished in either black or chrome depending on the computer colour. The rest of the trim such as the bezel and buckle are also either black or chrome to match.

The D4i Novo continues to be a great all rounder with plenty of functions at a great price. The Novo still includes three dive modes (air, nitrox and free), full watch functions, dive planner, partial dot matrix display, optional wireless air integration when used with a Suunto Transmitter, pc/mac interface cable included for use with the Suunto Dive Manager and also online community functionality with the Suunto Movescount website.

I'm sure the improved look and new colours of the compact and lightweight D4i Novo will only increase it's popularity.

What do you think of this refresh? Like it or not a fan?
