The Oceanic Ultradry 2 Snorkel is a dry-top snorkel with a comprehensive deflector to keep any water out of the snorkel. If any water does find its way into the snorkel the oversized purge valve at the bottom traps water away from your mouth and expels it when you breathe out.
The dry top valve incorporates both a wave deflect or splash guard which helps to deflect any water that splashes over the top of the snorkel away from the opening and also a float mechanism which opens and closes the airway when the snorkeler submerges and returns to the surface. These valves are especially good for snorkelers that are not 100% confident in the water.
The rigid upper section has been designed to follow the line of the head as it extends upwards to help reduce drag by hugging the side of the head as closely as possible. The rigid section also has the sliding strap retainer which can be quickly separated, allowing the snorkel to be removed from the mask easily for storage. The lower silicone section allows the mouthpiece to be comfortably and conveniently positioned to the mouth. The corrugation that allows the section to flex is only on the outside which reduces turbulence inside the snorkel to maximise air flow speed.
The bottom section houses a purge chamber that helps to catch any water that does enter the snorkel, helping to maintain consistent air flow. Collected water is naturally drained through the one way purge valve or can be forced out by exhaling sharply. The mouthpiece is made of pure 100% silicone for a soft and comfortable fit.
