The Mares Pure BCD is a simple wing style BCD with plenty of padding and their new SLS weight pocket system. The wing holds you horizontal in the water and gives you a greater freedom of movement in and out of the water.
Wing
The bladder of the BCD only inflates behind you and is shaped so that when you're in the water it will hold you in a horizontal position. When dump air out of BCD a bungee will fold the wing up and tuck it neatly in behind you to stay streamlined.
The wing is free-floating so while it is attached to your harness it is free to move when needed so it doesn't affect the shape or hold of your harness
Slide & Lock Weights
Integrated weights on either side of the BCD are held in place with the secure Slide Lock System, SLS, which provides a reassuring grip on your weights and a reliable quick release button in the ergonomic handle.

Felt very comfortable in the water though the addition of a crotch strap would be good as the wing rode up when I first jumped in the water. There is a D ring at the base so can fit one easily. Locating the pull dumps both front and back was easy. Th

I've always worn Mares BCD's but this is my first wing BCD. Perfect fit, balance and look. Lots of excellent attachment points and the buckle release is superb! SLS weight system is also much better that the belt weights. Superb BCD.

My old Cressi finally gave up the ghost on a recent dive trip forcing me to upgrade! I spent quite some time reading reviews and dropping into the various dive centres around where I live trying things on and talking to the pros. On my last trip I was recommended to go for a wing style BCD and I have not regretted the decision. Although heavier than my old Cressi (will have to make some choices on packing for the next trip!) the BCD is very well made and fits perfectly. I went with a Medium size and even though I am a big bloke it is a great fit. First thing you notice on getting in the pool for a check out dive is how much more freedom of movement the Pure gives. The buoyancy is excellent and the back inflation results in a very relaxed horizontal diver profile. Buoyancy stability is good in any orientation. The SLS weight system is very intuitive and easy to use. After the pool dive the BCD dried nice and quickly and no issues at all. Great BCD and a great bargain from Simply Scuba

Worth every penny i bought this to replace my old one that should have been put to rest year's ago. Great quality and comfortable easy to adjust and the integrated weight pockets very easy and good design thanks guys for another great product
