The Apeks 90° Fixed Elbow is a handy joint that fits between your hose and 2nd stage so the hose routes 90° out. Handy for diving on twins and sidemount you can route the hose more naturally down or back and the 2nd stage can still swivel so you can manipulate it easily.

I got this to resolve the eternal question of how my short-hose AS should be configured, for myself or for my buddy? The 90deg angle and added swivel point means that the 2nd stage can easily be used by myself or my buddy without the hose length being a factor. Also great for routing reg hoses under the arm.
Only disappointing thing about it is the diameter of the body is slightly too big and it won't go into my AS clip. So I have to clip the AS by the hose, which leaves it a bit dangly. Would work much better in a long hose primary donate setup.

We know scuba gear is expensive. I needed one. It's a nice piece. It works. It's well made and finished. It's got the little logo on it. Yeh….

I prefer to have my recreation octopus config with both my primary and redundant second stage hose routed under my right arm, and this bend allows me to do this. The comfort, streamlined nature of this simple addition, to me, outweigh any argument of introducing another point of failure to my set up.
I enjoy taking photos of small things, which may require me to be in weird positions and this allows me to do so.

I got the 90° Elbow for my long hose configuration and it works perfect and it is more comfortable than without one.
