The Platina snorkel uses the Tusa Hyperdry system which eliminates the sensation of residual water or gurgling whilst snorkelling. This works by keeping the main tube dry by ejecting water through an escape channel and the tilt of the snorkel pipe eases the ejection. The Platina Hyperdry has an ortho mouthpiece designed for comfort and has a three dimensional curve for a perfect snokelling angle.

I've not tried this out yet but it looks as if it's going to be really comfortable. I've tried the mouthpiece which feel comfortable and I like the way the clip can be detached and put onto the mask so it's easy to attach and detach the snorkel. I'd have liked the video to be a bit more clear about how you detach it though as I'm not a snorkelling 'professional' so the procedure is new to me!

Finally replaced my favourite snorkel

Finally replaced my favourite snorkel. Had to as somebody nicked it!! Anyhow this Hyperdry snorkel will help ease the pain of the loss ;-) It is a great piece of kit and the mechanism of keeping water out of the diver's mouth an lungs works a treat!

I orginally bought another snorkeling kit for my husband - the mask was fine, but he felt the snorkel pulled too much. I bought this one as a replacement: what a fantastic product! Need to get one for myself now!

Used this off Ko Phi Phi with an Oceanic Shadow...

Used this off Ko Phi Phi with an Oceanic Shadow Mini mask. This was the best snorkel I've used. The purge valve works perfectly, and the clever 2 position clip-on attatchment to the mask lets you get the correct snorkel angle for whatever your head size and shape. Buy one.

I bought this snorkel for use on a trip to...

I bought this snorkel for use on a trip to the Galapagos Islands, but had never used one before. I was concerned that I would not like the experience, but it was actually wonderful. As a complete novice I found the snorkel easy to use and trouble free.

Just finished using this snorkel in the Maldives and boy...

Just finished using this snorkel in the Maldives and boy what an improvement on my previous snorkel which developed a fault in the purge valve. This was comfortable right from the start no fiddly adjustments needed, no water got in ( except when I got over zealous and went under without thinking, but even then the purge valve handled it perfectly) and it is very quiet no annoying gurgle noises. Good value for money.

performed as described

performed as described, virtually floated once attached 2 my mouth (didn't feel any weight of the device). Still I wonder why they cannot make the snorkel a foot longer as at times the water conditions went from still to wavy (over a day or 2) so the extra length would b great, but over all worth the money & the valve system worked very well when expelling water!

Excellent value for the price

Excellent value for the price. Mouthpiece is very comfortable. Purge valve works perectly. Breathing with this felt natural, unlike other snorkels I have used. Used it in choppy open water and it let very little water in. Quick delivery. Thanks loads

Just returned from Egypt last week and have to say...

Just returned from Egypt last week and have to say that I was delighted with this snorkel's performance, above and under water. It's easy to attach/detach from the mask fixture and allows for fast movement in the water, with good clean breathing capabilties. I was able to do plenty of underwater photography on reefs and choppy open waters, and the snorkel never failed to look after my air supply! I'm looking forward to using it in South America next year.

i bought this snorkel about 18months ago but have only...

i bought this snorkel about 18months ago but have only just been able to use it. It's probably been improved since then but the one i have got is brilliant. Stuff keeping an eye on my money on the beach, I was making sure no one took the snorkel. Not that I was out of the water much as I could stay in for ages with this snorkel without getting tired. Breathing is very easy and quiet Mouthpiece is very comfortable and I eventually realised that i didn't need to bite hard. I'm a nervous snorkeller as my swimming ability is poor and my previous snorkel used to let in water and I'd panic so stayed within my depth. No need with this snorkel as I could trust it enough to go well out of my depth. I tested it in waves and it only once let a small amount of water in which was easy to blow out. I don't dive down but my son tested it out and could blow out the water with no problems. I'd bought him an Oceanic which was slightly cheaper but although working initially started letting water in after he'd done one dive and blown the water out. The only negative thing that i can say is that i bought the silver version and it has an orange top to it. It's my least favourite colour but obviously this is a personal choice thing and doesn't detract from the excellent design and reliability. I will be buying another for my son.

Superb snorkel

Superb snorkel, comfortable, easy to clear, does not get washed out easy in the surf. Don't waste your money on cheaper snorkels this is the Bees Knees. Was going to make a reference to a certain part of a dogs anatomy but I am sure this site is viewed by younger people. ;¬D

We have used these snorkels in various situations

We have used these snorkels in various situations. Easy to clear, easy to attach, very comfortable as swivels, bends in all directions. No gurgling. Worth every penny ... don't try to save yourself a fiver on a cheaper version ... it's a great investment. My 8 year old daughter skin dives with it very easily!!! (Though have just bought all 3 children Oceanic ultradry models ... hope we don't regret it!).

Yes, this is the snorkel that is worth having in your goody bag. Easy to clear, easy to attach to your mask and reasonably good value. I used it for snorkelling and found that it was a gem compared to them simple none valve type snorkels and I don't think I could go back to that style again, now that I’ve had a slice of the easy life :-)

Fantastic snorkel

Fantastic snorkel. Easy to clear with the bubbles flowing under your chin and not in front of your face unlike my old snorkel!! Water doesn't get trapped in the resevoirso no gurgling. The mouthpiece is comfortable in your mouth too. . An excellent bit of kit and highly recommended.

I am a novice snorkeller

I am a novice snorkeller & quite nervous in roughter waters. This snorkel made all the difference! comfortable and easy to clear - also good for diving my instructor told me (he had to very same one!).

Fantastic snorkel, bought a' 100% guaranteed snorkel' for my wife and one of these for me, after using both I certainly got the better deal, breathing is so easy, it clears without effort and the wave protector is the most effective I have ever used. Buy one you won't regret it.
