Usual gripeUsual gripe - serial not USB- When I bought this - 6 years ago was not a problem as my desktop had serial. 2 years later I bought a MAC laptop - no serial and no support. Difficult, even then, to find an adapter but located one at Maplins. Loaded windows onto MAC and software runs a treat. MAC support would be good.

Not as easy to use as a USB IR interfaceNot as easy to use as a USB IR interface, but then if you have a Solution or an Eon, this is what you need! However, you'll also need a PC with serial ports or a serial to USB converter and some understanding of Coms Ports to set it up.

This should go to a USB port not a serial...This should go to a USB port not a serial port, i know they have an adaptor, but it costs and serial ports were phased out over 4 years ago and the cd didn't contain the drivers required, had to get the latest version from the suunto web site.

No problem with this product except that the software is...No problem with this product except that the software is a little out of date - but newer version can be downloaded for free from Suunto website) and Serial Cable is also a little out of date with laptops no longer having a serial plugs - which means that one needs a Serial to USB converter cable as well.

Product is a definite no for Win Vista and Suunto are at their most unhelpful in resolving system conflicts.

Hooking up and geting started is a bit of pain...Hooking up and geting started is a bit of pain but after you have sussed this its plain sailing, just make sure you put the connectors into the watch the right way round so the contact are properly connected. Excellent way to analyse your diving.

Also one would expect a USB and or Bluetooth version ? Why only the serial one ? Overall the software is great - export facilities, easy to use and well designed... Just that old style cable connection that I personally don't like too much.

The dive manager is an excellent piece of equipment and...The dive manager is an excellent piece of equipment and software. It is pretty straightforward to use and the software is relatively easy although I would recommend that you play around with a few dummy entries before you save the downloaded dives for real. Software is easy to load and as I had an extended dive log in Word on my pc I was able to cut and paste each dive into the notes section.
It is a good piece of kit and if buying a Suunto dive computer (I have the vyper) it finishes off the package neatly.

I still use a handwritten paper log as wellI still use a handwritten paper log as well, but I'm able to keep so many more details w/the included software, as well as vital dive profile info. Not cheap, but Id buy it again.
