The Shadow from Oceanic is a frameless, single lens diving mask comes in four options to suit all requirements: Shadow version has an all black silicone frame, whilst the Ice features clear silicone. Each of those versions then has a mini option suited to narrower faces.

Shadow version: The Shadow mask lives up to it's name by incorporating a sleek, black 100% liquid silicone skirt attached directly to the tempered glass. This low volume skirt works in conjunction with swiveling, easy adjusting buckles to provide ultra-comfortable adjustment and fit. Because it has no plastic mask frame, the Shadow packs flat and takes up very little space during travel or transportation. It can also perform an additional use of being a "back up" mask since it can actually be packed small enough to fit in the pockets of most BCs!

Ice version: Following on the heels of the popular Shadow mask.

Shadow Ice version: This mask incorporates the same frame free features as the original, but in a frosted high quality liquid silicone finish! Besides looking ultra-slick, the clear finish of the mask allows more light to reach the diver, thus creating a more "open" feeling while diving. So be cool and get the Ice.

Mini versions: Oceanic expands the award winning Shadow series in order to fit a broader spectrum of faces. The Mini Shadow and Mini Shadow ice feature a smaller, frame free silicone skirt. These low volume masks clear easier and offer a more streamlined profile. The new tempered glass lenses provide a much greater field of downward vision, necessary in seeing and getting to equipment located within "the diver's triangle". Like all the masks in the Shadow family, the Mini Shadow are also becoming an excellent back up mask, found in the BC pocket of many technical divers.

Great mask

Great mask, highly recommended. I bought the ICE version and after applying toothpaste to the inside of the mask a couple of times I don't experience any fogging anymore. I wasn't too sure whether to go for the normal or mini but in the end decided on the normal size and it fits great.

I would rate this mask as excellent if it wasn

I would rate this mask as excellent if it wasn't for the following. My previous Oceanic Shadow Mini started leaking after just 2 years. I found out this was caused by the sharp edges piercing through the silicone at the strap attachment points. When I purchased a new Oceanic Shadow Mini, I was hoping the design of the strap attachment was improved, but it wasn't. As a precaution I have now rounded of the sharp edges with sanding paper.

Pros

Pros: A great mask allowing for an excellent view, with little obstruction. The Mask is soft yet solidly built and fits comfortably on the face. The strap is extremely comfortable but needs to be tight enough to allow for giving of the neoprene at depth. Cons: Due to the one piece construction a thorough prep is needed on the mask to avoid fogging. I've had no problems of fogging since. I have a large brow that presses against the glass slightly. Whilst this has never caused much discomfort or leaking, it is worth being aware of if you have a more prominent brow. Overall an excellent mask.

VERY well built

VERY well built. The silicone is a bit more rigid than my current mask, a Tusa Concero. Was looking for a new primary mask, so that the concero became the backup (The Concero is almost a perfect fit, but not quite). Unfortunately they are identically sized, and having a narrow face, the Oceanic too isn't what I was looking for. My buddy however was quite pleased with it, so pleased that he is buying another one to have as a backup. The neoprene strap is great, (I use one of equal quality) but I recommend that you add a bit of velcro to it, so that it doesn't slip and becomes loose. This is the only thing that I would change. I'm so confident in this mask, that I'm ordering another one, but in a smaller size.

i bought the mini ice shadow mask and my partner...

i bought the mini ice shadow mask and my partner the normal size for a snorkelling trip. Very comfortable to wear with silicone skirt and rear padded strap, does not leave big red marks around your face either like i found with cheaper masks. takes a little time adjusting for 'no leaks' then off you go swimming with the 'fishes'....

What an excellent piece of kit

What an excellent piece of kit!! Quality throughout, both me and my wife have one. My wife got the Mini Shadow after i was raving about my Shadow. I have had so many mask that have degraded over time and the clarity becomes poor, also ones that leak considerably and that are uncomfortable. This ticks all the boxes for a great dive!

Bought Ice mini for my 13yr old daughter

Bought Ice mini for my 13yr old daughter, really nice fit and comfortable. Excellent visibility and durable. Comes packed in hard plastic case but this is bit big for everyday use so worth investing in a soft mask case to protect the glass. Excellent value for money mask, highly recommended.

I do find this mask really comfortable

I do find this mask really comfortable, much better than previous masks, but after some use the neoprene seems to become stretched on the strap. Would be perfect if it had a better strap.

Nice looking mask

Nice looking mask, looks a bit tech! But strap adjusters too big so you have to over tighten to let neoprene strap take up the slack, this results it the mask flooding right through the dive. What's wrong with old school mask straps!!!!! Let me know if I can buy some please

The mask gives good vision

The mask gives good vision, has a soft skirt and the whole thing is a pretty good mask. Took me a while to get it to sit right on my face, and the first pool session was quite a watery one! but once its on right its no trouble.

I ordered the MINI since the normal was just a little too small, but the MINI really narrows your side vision a lot more than the normal one does - maybe its just personal and i should have stayed with the normal one. Overall a good mask - could have used a little more down vision for gauges and so forth but very comfortable and easy to clear - really good value

Not the easiest mask to clear

Not the easiest mask to clear, but with practice, I'll improve my skill. The original strap buckle is hard to adjust, so I removed it and I sew the strap at the right size. The neoprene provides enough stretch for comfort.

Great mask

Great mask, good size - can't imagine what the normal sized one is like!!! kept me in the dry, except when I smiled or laughed. I suppose this is usual though. I asked my hubby as he has a oceanic mask but he just said don't smile then! He was obviously very composed whilst snorkelling! Used it with the ultra dry snorkel - ace.!

I was dissapointed with the fabric headstrap

I was dissapointed with the fabric headstrap. It's very hard to adjust underwater with a glove on. Hard to simply pull to tighten and quick release, not like the the older Shadow which was excellent. The headstrap seems to be a move backward!!

Adjusted strap

Adjusted strap, put on and away I went, no leaks at all and very comfortable, very little fogging. I fortunately bought the mini version which fits my face perfect, can't imagine what the standard one would have looked like on me!

I'm not a diver, but have been a keen snorkeller for years. I used this mask (the Mini Ice version) off Ko Phi Phi for a few weeks in February with a TUSA Platina Hyperdry snorkel. This was by far the best snorkel gear I've used. The mask is a perfect fit, didn't fog up much at all, did not leak and gave great peripheral vision. Buy one.

I've dived with this mask (mini shadow) over 100 times now and it is still as good as when I bought it. In fact me and my wife squabble over who's going to use it. In fact we're about to buy another. Comfortable, easy to pack, easy to clear.

Excellent mask

Excellent mask, best I've owned - many years of holiday snorkeling. Just spent 2 weeks in Sharm (Red Sea fantastic) and at last embarked on a diving course. Mask didn't let me down. Would definitely recommend.

Just spent a couple of weeks snorkelling in the Greek Islands with this mask and the pocket snorkel - fantastic value for money! Light annd comfortable, easy to pack, and the 'velcro' style snorkel connector was very good too.

This was the first mask I bought

This was the first mask I bought (the ice version) and has been excellent ever since - great for packing, ideal as a backup, and always comfortable. Sadly, getting smashed in my suitcase meant had to replace it, but no question that I would go for the same again.
