A little larger than I thought

A little larger than I thought, but looks more than suitable for what I bought it for (on the end of an SMB).

Works a treat even after been chewed by my Greyhound

Works a treat even after been chewed by my Greyhound. If you have large hands and 5mm gloves then using it may be a bit tricky as not all of your fingers would fit the handle.

This is a well made reel which is small enough...

This is a well made reel which is small enough to fit in a dry suit pocket along with an SMB, and yet big enought to operate easily in 5mm gloves without it being fiddly. All components seem very robust - certainly no issue with the body being plastic. A good design - highly recommended.

Have not used the one I bought yet but chose...

Have not used the one I bought yet but chose this reel having used one belonging to a DI in Tobago and found it free running and then it kept me safely at an 15 minute deco stop! It is also light in weight for packing.

Excellent piece of kit

Excellent piece of kit, ideal as a primary for recreational diver and perfect for a reliable travel reel , The bigger McMahon reel is even better still but is much bigger and unlike this is not ideal for travel or trying to store in a pocket.

at first glance and in the pics it is great

at first glance and in the pics it is great. to be fair i havent tried it yet. but up on first inspection, i think it is too fragile to take the riggors of diving. It is ALL PLASTIC. i expected the reel to be plastic but the handle to be steal or alloy. but in fact it is all plastic. even the break is plastic. if it was written that it was all plastic in the desctiption i would never have bought it. i feel that there is no value for my money what so ever.

Great compact reel

Great compact reel. Easy to deploy & unobtrusive. I keep mine attached to my dSMB and loop the restraining strap of my Buddy Commando SMB pouch through its handle. Makes for easy hassle free deployment. Just about to buy another one for my wife.

A good sturdy reel

A good sturdy reel, no problems so far. Pays out smoothly, easy to reel in. Compact enough to fit in thigh pocket with DSMB.

Excellent reel

Excellent reel! Well made and great to use with DSMB. Only criticism would be that handle is a little narrow so using it with gloves is a bit squashed. apart from that it does everything it says on the tin.

Great little reel

Great little reel. Very compact so easily fits into a BC pocket togther with your dSMB or other bits and pieces. Only problems I found: the racket lever is very "easy" to press, so you have to be careful not to do so inadvertently. Also care needs to be taken to wind the reel up evenly otherwise the line has a tendancey to spill over the reel's edges... and that's not pretty!

Worked well with my DSMB

Worked well with my DSMB, thought it was a bit fragile, no problems when deploying my SMB so did the job it is required for. Fits well in the pocket of my Stab Jacket.
