The X-Vision Liquid Skin from Mares. Liquidskin technology joins the most popular mask in the world.

With the addition of Mares patented Liquidskin technology, the X-Vision now offers comfort that was formerly impossible. By co-molding two different types of silicone, there is no longer a need to compromise comfort in order to support the frame structure of a mask.

The section that rests on the face is made with silicone that is 45% softer and 270% more elastic than what is typically used by other masks. The support structure and the area of the seals are molded with a silicone that is 30% harder than the traditional material. The extremely soft silicone portion rests on the face delivering a new level of comfort. The marks that are typically left on your face after a dive are mostly eliminated. The superior elasticity and softness of Liquidskin allows the mask to fit perfectly on a wider range of faces.
Liquidskin® adapts to facial movement and offers a great seal virtually eliminating water leakage. Equalization is now much easier due to the super soft nose pocket. I

I've had my liquidskin for nearly 2 years and whilst it is the most comfortable mask I've ever had, yesterday it started leaking big time, ruining the dive. Out of water the suction test shows the seal has evidently gone and when I talked with the DM at Mataking he said several other people have had this problem. So, great mask but short-lived in some cases

Hi

Hi, I'm from Indonesia I buy this mask almost 3 years ago. Liquid Skin Technology is amazing, so comfort, when we dive, silicon texture feel more like our skin. But sadly every time I dive, there always water leaked from under nose pocket silicon. I don't know what happen about silicon construction, because even my friend have X-Vision without Liquid Skin Technology, also leaked... Hope Mares concern about leaked problems... ^_^

I bought one a year ago and was total disaster

I bought one a year ago and was total disaster. After about 20 seconds the mask is half filled with water. It's due to relatively little amount of silicon at the bottom part of the mask. I struggled for 2 weeks every day really trying all possible combinations and strap tensions with exactly the same effect. I asked 2 of my friends to use the mask and they had exactly the same problem. Unless you have "fatty" cheeks it's unusable I'm afraid.

This was my first mask

This was my first mask, and it is brilliant. There is leaking from time to time, but I found this is more due to the way I wore the mask with hair trapped in than the mask itself. Overall, this is an extremely good and comfortable mask, well worth the money.

So far the best mask that I

So far the best mask that I've ever dive with but I can't feel any difference between Liquid skin and the older x-vis. I mean in water, on the surface it is slightly more floppy. Great mask!

I bought this mask in May09 and have used it...

I bought this mask in May09 and have used it on 58 dives since then. I like many others have struggled to find a mask that i have confidence in. Until this mask. Sure, you can suffer leaking and fogging with this mask - like any other, but this is simply down to user error. I have found that as long as you keep it clean, and ensure it is placed on correctly with no eyebrows/hair inside the skirt of the mask, and you make sure it is fastened correctly (not too loose/tight) it will stay dry and clear. I have the grey/black version and find it really helps to see when diving in bright colours. But there are soo many different colours to choose from. I will be buying a second liquidskin as a back up cos at this price (£40), this mask is a bargain.

This is a superb mask

This is a superb mask - no leaks, clear vision & comfortable. In over 50 years of diving & snorkelling with numerous masks this one is by far the best. And it leaves hardly a mark on my face even though my skin is now much more "impressionable" than it used to be!

Not sure if its fair to give the mask 1 or whether it should be my face that gets the 1! - leaked continuously for me, although my son and a few of the instructors I saw used this type of mask with no problems

Nice Mask

Nice Mask. Had a Tusa hyperdry one before but it always leaked. This one didn't leak at all and I liked it.

Bought this mask recently for a dive trip to Indonesia

Bought this mask recently for a dive trip to Indonesia. It is awful. The mask just leaks continuously like no other I have worn. I even tried using it for snorkelling and it still leaked frequently. This mask ruined my first day's diving as I spent so much time clearing the mask of water that it then misted up and so my visibility was terrible. Do not buy this!!!

Started off well

Started off well, but after numerous dives, seems to leak everytime now, and fast. It is comfortable and leaves minimal marks on your face after a dive. Will give it one last chance...until becomes part of a reef!

I wanted a new mask to replace the 25 year...

I wanted a new mask to replace the 25 year old one I have. Really enjoy snorkelling and have booked Croatia again for August. I was amazed by the comfort of this mask and am really pkleased with the money spent. The description given in the 'best buy' section was informative a proved acuurate. Can't wait to use it in August and am sure will perform very well. Superb value for money. Also my mate has just ordered two for him and his wife as well!

This is my second mask

This is my second mask (first one broke on the starp buckles), and it definatly lives up to the reviews. No leaks at any depths between 1 and 30 metres, really comfortable and it doesn't leave marks on your skin. No fogging either - bonus! The starp buckles on this one seem a lot tougher than some others that I have seen as well.

I have just started diving and i was using some...

I have just started diving and i was using some hired equipment i found no matter what mask i wore it leaked ..even when i used the trusted instructors mask which he loved i found water getting in......after reviewing this mask i thought i would take the plunge and purchase one as i was spending so much time doing mask clearances i was unable to concetrate on the rest of my training..... this mask is fantastic not a drop of water has got in....even when i laugh at my partner who is learning alongside me i dont get any leakage i would fully recommend it to anyone ...luckily i purchased the pink one so my partner is less likely to want to use my fantastic mask !!!! i have long hair and even when this had got behind my mask still no water amazing!!!

This is my 5th mask

This is my 5th mask, one of the previous ones was the Mares X-Vision which I thought was great. This one is even better, no leakage, even when laughing or pulling faces. By far the best mask I ever had (shouldn't have bought it in pink, though, being a 6'7" male), buy it!
