I have given this product a 5 rating as i...

I have given this product a 5 rating as i purchased it purely to use as an extra layer of warmth , unfortunately ( and i hate to be negative about any Mares product )in this role it fails to perform i still had to wear 2 rash vests under it ( i was diving 14 degrees in a 5 mm wetsuit so in warmer climes it may well perform better , but then you would,nt need it in the first place )i also found that even with the ankle and thumb straps it rode up the legs and arms when pulling on the wetsuit , the ankle straps also stretch very easily ,so as an extra thermal layer it does,nt score very well , however it does keep you a little dryer and i found after removing my wetsuit in the breeze it did keep me warm and started to dry quickly so in theory apart from wet trunks you could pull on a pair of jeans and drive back to base without removing it so bonus points there !,by the nature of the material used i would not want to use it purely for protection anywhere near coral or rock outcrops . for snorkelling in open water where you may come across the odd thermocline or for diving where it is just a little less than warm i think this suit may help a little . on the positive side it is a very smart piece of kit and it looks good .
