Mixed feelings on this

Mixed feelings on this. It is VERY good value for money for what you get in that £100 for a camera and housing that takes photos is a good price - as long as it doesn't leak (it hasn't yet). But you get what you pay for and it does have its problems. Firstly - the controls are not intuitive. As a keen amateur photographer, I have used a fair few digital cameras, and finding the right buttons to press in the right order to do what is neccessary sometimes takes a bit of getting used to. It's not immediately obvious and resorting to the manual was sometime neccessary. What makes this worse is that whilst the camera is in its housing, the description of each button gets covered meaning that one has to remember what each button does whilst underwater. The other issue is the fact that the camera features a 'slider' to switch between macro and landscape shots and this can not be operated when it is in its housing. This means that you need to decide between the 2 before you submerge. It seems strange that this was choosen as I would imagine that it would have been just as easy to opt for a 'rocker' switch instead - which could be operated in the housing? The quality of the photos are not great. 9MP is ok, but the lens quality is not great - with colours and white balance being average at best. Having said all this - once again at £100, this was all to be expected making this a 10 for value for money (whilst it stays dry!).

Battery life is very poor

Battery life is very poor,it eats batteries extremely quickly. Also it is not a waterproof camera,it is a digital camera and waterproof housing. If the housing leaks a little bit it will kill the camera.

Picture quality isn

Picture quality isn't as good as some I have seen but then again I didn't have crazy money to spend when I bought this! Excellent value for money and relatively easy to use. Battery life quite short but what do you want for £130? Worthwhile purchase in my opinion!

Good quality camera

Good quality camera, but battery life dies at depth and under a certain temperature. Has taken good pictures and worth the price for a basic dive camera.

Buttons slightly stiff when in casing

Buttons slightly stiff when in casing, but has already started to ease with use. Feel confident with the locking system. just can not wait to get on to the reef and try it out. Seems to be good value for money, thinking how mush a disposable one cost me then getting it developed and of course the impatience of seeing if any of them had actually worked.

Overall I am very pleased with this product and with the first batch of photographs and one video that I took underwater. My only small negative point is that the batteries included in the box, although new, quickly died during my first dive. Luckily as soon as I put some other batteries into the camera it was fine on the second dive.

Well

Well, I Have to admit that i was a bit apprehensive at first and thought the price was just what i was to expect but i went diving in South Africa and Durban's vibility was some thing to be desired, at 2m to 2.5m i managed to take some fantastic shots of nudibranchs as well as a few crayfish and amazing coral, but the icing on the cake and the cherry on top of that was when i went to Umkamaas!,....Oh boy !!, was i chuffed, the most amasing colours and fish, i had not actually seen in RedSea, the visibility, easy 15m to 20m and the pictures are amasing, the following day, 07h00 i went diving with Tiger sharks, and yes you guessed it, on a 4gig card and lithium batteries, i managed to capture 11min of some awesome movie footage, i will try and send a sample, so that seeing will become believing. That's why i rated this CP9 camera 10.......FANTASTIC BUY
