Fourth Element Ladies Thermocline Explorer

£134.95 RRP £149.95  save 10%

The material used to produce the Fourth Element Thermocline Explorer is probably the most versatile thermal protection system for use in extreme watersports. Breathable, comfortable and lightweight, the garments are also fast drying with the equivalent thermal performance of 2.5mm neoprene.

Made using Polartec® Aqua Shell® fabric, the garments are also neutrally buoyant and machine washable. The Thermocline system can be used as a lightweight wetsuit for snorkelling, pool training suit or as an effective additional thermal layer underneath a wetsuit or semi dry.

Loss of heat from the body can result in poor decisions, can lead to exhaustion and speed the onset of hypothermia

State of the art breatheable, waterproof, flexible and warm fabric developed by climate control specialists, Polartec® has been used by fourth element to create the Thermocline range, which has been tested in some of the most extreme diving conditions in the world.

The Thermocline is made from Polartec® Aqua Shell® fabric and has a thermal performance equivalent to that of 2.5mm of neoprene whilst being neutrally buoyant. Worn on its own or underneath a wetsuit or drysuit for additional thermal protection, the Fourth Element Thermocline system represents and evolutionary step in diving thermal protection.

The fabric is fleece-lined - it is comfortable and warm against the skin. Four way strech gives complete freedom of movement. A breathable membrane means that the Thermocline can be worn all day.

I have recently discovered that neoprene wetsuits bring out an allergic reaction in my skin. I googled this problem and was led to your product via some underwater photographer who had the same problem, I am very grateful to the information he provided as this alternative wetsuit was brilliant. It is very light and comfortable to wear. Although I am told it is ok to wear neoprene over the top of this suit, I would be hesitant to do so as my reaction is so great, my only thing therefore is if you were able to make a slightly warmer one of these it would be great. I feel the cold quite badly and even in waters of 25 degrees centigrade, I was a little cold towards the end of my dive. But basically a great wetsuit.

It took some wiggling into

It took some wiggling into (esp over the hips!) but once in this is a very comfortable suit. I use it for pool training. It is neutrally buoyant as far as I can tell - I don't need any extra lead. You can get cold on the shoulders on exiting the water so I'd recommend buying the t-shirt if you find this a problem.
