A hybrid harness designed for divers who want the support of a backpack-style harness for better weight-load distribution, yet wish to dive a hard metal backplate. Designed like a mountaineer's backpack, the TransPlate harness disperses weight across the hips and back, minimizing shoulder strain. When used with a 6-pound steel backplate (not included), divers can remove or minimize weight pockets. Adjustable straps adapt to a wide variety of exposure suits and means easy donning and doffing. The modular design allows for customization with a wide variety of pockets and accessories. The TransPlate is designed to be used with any wing, except the Travel Wing, in the Dive Rite line. Available in sizes M-XXL. Made in the U.S.A.

Good product

Good product, good fit, plenty of scope for adjusting to suit your individual needs. The black and grey manual is not so easy to understand. The images and some of the descriptions could be a lot clearer. Failing that a pictorial web-based assembly manual would be helpfull.

Great bit of kit

Great bit of kit. But, I always have trouble with the pinch clips. Cant open them. Also find the sholder straps hard to do up.

As good as you get

As good as you get, from a well known compamy, fit is good - as previous review states unless you are a DIR fanatic the pinch clips are a No No, but for your buddy its reassurring to know that its similar to most BC's

Very comfortable and fits extremely well thanks to the array of different adjustments. Plenty of D rings too. Would recommend, unless you're a DIR purist in which case the pinch clips are a no-no!
