Simple

Simple, effective, easy for buddies to see and easy to use. Can be used in conjunction with some types of scumballs if you like to keep your reg mouthpieces covered when not in use. Once you have detached the reg it can float off (I've lost one this way!) so the tip about inserting some small weights in the tube is worth acting on.

The perfect reg

The perfect reg-holder is like the perfect wave or the perfect golf-swing. Something you search a lifetime for. Every time you are in a dive shop and see a new one you think hmmm... maybe. I have had five different ones... they dropped the reg too easily or they held the hose only and allowed it to slip from the origianal position, or they were a pain to attach the reg to. I now have two of these Octo -guards. A short one for my octo and a neck-leash for my pony reg and they are as near to perfect as I have seen. The reg pops in easily and stays put. It pops out as soon as you pull it. There are no moving parts, no fancy clamps - it works, its cheap, its simple - its cool

Useful piece of kit

Useful piece of kit, means the regulator is kept close to your mouth. One point is that the loop is very light and can float off your head, so I inserted a few lead weights into the rear of the loop to hold it down around your neck
