Cressi MC5 Ellipse Black Regulator

Cressi MC5 Ellipse Black Regulator

£149.00 RRP £178.20  save 16%

This Cressi Regulator is comprised of the MC5 Diaphragm first stage and the Ellipse Black second stage which has a black elastomer cover. This regulator is lightweight with fantastic performance whilst easy to maintain. The MC5 first stage has a sheathed sliding cylinder in the piston which has been made of a self lubricating polymer to reduce internal friction and eliminates any oxidisation that could effect the regulator performance over time. The MC5 has a special assistance chamber to trigger a Venturi effect between the intermediate pressure outlets and central diffuser, furthermore the balanced diaphragm not only maintains performance of the regulator if the tank pressure varies or depth increases but even increases performance in the critical and final stage of the dive. Other features include a filter to trap impurities from the incoming air and low and high pressure outlets are pre orientated for ideal hose placement.

Excellent lightweight Travel regulator

Excellent lightweight Travel regulator! Unbelievably light, nice quality,& will allow us to take clothes on dive holidays to the Red Sea!! Imagine that! Only 2 SMALL gripes! The distance the second stage protrudes forward out of the mouth is more than i would have expected, although again the lightness of this reg makes that not an issue! The second issue is that the HP port is positioned to run towards the left hand side (as you wear the gear). There is one other Medium pressure port on this side as well, which must be used for the Direct feed to the BCD. This forces you to run the octopus from the last remaining right hand port, which for some may be an issue! Its not ideal, but is a small sacrifice for the weight saving!

Generally a fantastic piece of equipment

Generally a fantastic piece of equipment, gas flow is almost effortless. First stage on the slight heavy side but to be honest negligible. Second stage is as light as they come easily maintained, does not feel as robust as some but has surprised me a few times. Only draw back is I find the diaphragm has a tendency to stick open if not used for a while, a simple shake has always stopped this. For the price iv yet to find better. Perfect as a first reg set.

Only used in the pool at the moment through training but my first impressions are this Regulator is robust and excellent value for money. Simply Scuba shipped extremely quickly. Great service.
