A brilliant BC
A brilliant BC. So lightweight that you can bring it on any travel without having to worry about those 44 lbs... Yet fully functional in the water. It acts a lot like a backplate / harness / wing system which I - having dived those in the past - enjoyed a lot. You get a perfect trim and adjusting buoyancy is very simple. It does look flimsy and I wish they would have made the straps a bit sturdier, seems like unnecessary weight saving there. Still, the BC stood up to the wear and tear of a one week live aboard trip in the Galapagos without any problems. The low profile means it's great for rough water as well. I loved using it in the strong currents off Wolf and Darwin. If I could add a wish list for a v 2.0 model, it would be alu d-rings instead of the plastic ones, slightly broader straps than the current 1 cm ones, and just a little bit of fabric on the back side of the waist straps / weight system pockets for placing the octo and the SPG, like the style Aqua Lung uses on their Pro QD / LT BCs.
