I've read lots before ordering these fins, especially since I ordered them online and couldn't try on for fit. Ahhh, they are the best!!! They are a bit heavy, but in terms of comfort and performance there's no match! I've lost a fin a week ago on my trip in Mozambique getting onto a boat in really rough seas and had to live with a pair of decent fins from the diveshop. Well, first of all, it suddenly felt like I finned and finned and yet wasn't getting anywhere much! Secondly, after the first dive my knees were killing me! Resume: I am ordering a new pair once I am done writing this review!

I bought a pair at LIDS over a year ago and found them excellent. Proper fitting ensured that there was no discomfort when wearing at they seemed to eliminate all evidence of leg cramps, something I have always been prone to. At Christmas 2010 I lost a fin in heavy swell coming off the dive boat and had to use a conventional fin for the rest of my dives. As a direct comparison I felt the "ordinary" dive centre fin was harder work especially in current. I am waiting now for the insurance claim to buy a new pair of slingshots. Can't wait.

Bought 2 pairs of these at the dive show last...

Bought 2 pairs of these at the dive show last year for me and my partner. They are very heavy and produce good power as you'd expect. The gears do make some difference but you certainly can't change them with gloves on and they aren't necessary. They are the first fins I've tried which have hurt me across the top of my feet. Presumably due to their weight. They also give me cramp in the leg when in a high gear setting, but maybe that's my problem for nit being fitter. All in all, I'm disappointed. I've tried persevering but they're just fins. Nothing wow. My other half hasn't even got hers wet as she knows bow disappointed I am with mine. I will replace them one day but for now, they work. They just don't do anything more than a cheap pair.

I purchased the Aqualung Slingshots after reading lots and lots of reviews which were all very positive..couldn't find a bad thing written about them. When I used them, I wouldn't have known I was wearing any fins apart from the movement around the boot which I can sort out by wearing thicker socks. I certainly didn't experience the usual ache across the top of my foot which I've had with other similar weight fins.

Brought these fins in Thailand and at first hated them

Brought these fins in Thailand and at first hated them! had done a lot of research into them when they first got released and got the impression they were a bit of gimmic, but produce a lot of power for very little effort. after deciding to go ahead with them, my first few dives were horrible. they are heavy and big and took a lot of getting used to. HOWEVER... after a few more days of diving, my ankles got used to the extra weight and i started to relax a lot more, at which point i was glad i brought them! not ideal for travelling as they are near on 3kg i think, but if you have a big kit bag any way, these are definitely worth the investment. just cant wait to try them out back home in the UK!

I did extensive research before buying these and have not been disappointed. The adjustable fin strength system is excellent. A tad on the heavy side but worth it if you able to take with you to dive abroad for sure!

I have tried a lot of fins a lot of which was much the same....these ones are quite different and I owe now two pairs both for wet suit and dry suit diving.I strongly recommend them for all kinds of diving,you get a very good balance, a lot of power and the feet pockets are also quite comfortable.Forget the adjustment in water with glove and mitts even with bare hands,simply choose the adjustment you want by trial.If you elect to go diving abroad these fins are not well suited for..plane travelling they are bulky and heavy enough.To make a long story short,these fins are a real change for once !

Absolutely AWESOME fins

Absolutely AWESOME fins! They are superb for scuba. It's often said that the best kit is that which you forget about and that's true about these fins, they take a lot of the load off your feet and ankles and reduce the amount of energy required when finning. However they came in to their own when diving in to a strong current and extra power was required. The foot 'box' of the fin is really quite large and I had loads of room to spare in a 'Regular' size fin when wearing them with a size 7 3mm Tusa Dive Slipper. However not so much as it was a problem, they were perfect. The fins are on the big and heavy side, not that it's a problem diving but if you're flying with them they really eat in to baggage allowances.
