AP Valves Buddy Commando BCD

£349.00 RRP £412.00  save 15%

The AP200 Buddy Commando without cylinder was originally developed to meet the punishing demands of Navy SAR divers and is still in service today. It subsequently took the sport and technical diving market by storm outselling its rivals for 20 years. This new Commando retains the essential qualities and features on which success is based; superior build, lift and surface support and adds the new advantages offered by re::flex.

Although the overall quality and build is very good it...

Although the overall quality and build is very good it lacks some of the features of earlier versions. • Integrated weights are very difficult to load when you are wearing the BCD. • Comber band is difficult to adjust during the dive for a snug fit. • Hooked side of Velcro straps for securing LP inflator is very narrow and flimsy. • No pockets are provided for trim weights at shoulder. • SMB pocket at rear is a very poor design, rendering it useless. Older design better. Another note of caution would be with sizing, with medium being comparable to large in most other BCD’s.

Weight Pouches extremely difficult to fit when wearing BCD

Weight Pouches extremely difficult to fit when wearing BCD. One weight pouch fell out (lost for good) on first sea dive despite utmost care having been taken to ensure it was clipped in properly.

An excellent all round jacket

An excellent all round jacket. It is on the large side, and the adjustable back support and quality construction makes slightly heavier than normal, but it's extremely comfortable, simple to set up and all the pockets and SMB pouch are easily accessible. The only drawback I can find is that the integrated weights are difficult to put in when you are wearing the BCD and if you load them up, it is extremely heavy to then lift up and put on by yourself. But on the whole, I have no complaitns
