Q -
Hi! I'm thinking of buying the Zoop dive computer but what exactly do you get if you choose the Dive Manager USB PC interface? The software is free to download from Suunto so are you offering a standard USB cable for £38 or is there something special about the interface? Thanks for your help again! Steve
A -
Hi Steve,
Many thanks for your question.
The Suunto USB interface has the unique connection needed to attach the cable to the Zoop computer. Unfortuatnely, a standard USB cable has the incorrect connection at the Zoop end.
I hope this helps!

Q -
Does the no-decompression time available change automatically as you dive deeper and then shallower, or does it stay on the time available based on your maximum depth?
A -
The zoop bases decompression information on the time spent at all depths, not just the maximum depth. When ascending from depth the no decompression limit will start to increase the shallower you become.

Q -
I am looking at the Suunto Zoop for my daughter who's just started diving. Her dive preofessional recommended either the Suunto Mosquito or the Oceanic Geo2 as being better and more likely to fit her wrist. The Oceanic looks a bit OTT for her and I don't see the Mosquito in your list! Can you recommend, Tks
A -
Hi, The Suunto Zoop itself is a good place to start for a beginner, as it is an ideal computer which isn't over laden with too much technology and has clear, precise basic functions which assists in uncomplicating matters but that will also service the user for many years to come.

|
Q -
I am Looking for a suitable dive computer for a 10 year old. Is the wrist strap adjustable enough?
If not is any other recommended?
A -
The Zoop unit itself will be big on the wrist but the strap will do up tight.

Hi, I have just bought one of these Dive Computers. This is my first Dive Computer, and just wondering how do you get it to light up?also how do you turn it off when finished? Many Thanks Clare
A -
Hi, Thank you for your enquiry. We can advise that the Zoop does not have a back light, but it does have a phosphorescent LCD display which makes the Zoop really easy to see in the dark (glows in the dark) when charged by torch light. We hope this information assists. Thank you.

Q -
How many dive records does is save please. Can I buy something to connect it to my PC if so how much would it be?
A -
Hi, Thank you for your enquiry. We can advise that the Zoop will give you countless dives, up to an approx. 99 profile. You will require the Suunto Dive Manager for your PC, which is our Product Code 4838. and you will need to select the top item from the drop down box at basket selection point, which includes the Zoop. We hope this information assists. Thank you.

Q -
Hello,
Looking for an upgrade on my Sunnto Companion, great computer never let me down. The only thing which annoys me with the companion is that is switches between max depth and actual depth all the time. This becomes rather annoying while trying to ascend at a nice rate. Does the Zoop have the same problem or will it simultaneously display both max and actual depth.
Thanks
A -
Hi, the information on the Zoop is changeable. The two readings at the bottom can be changed at the touch of a button, the maximum depth is selectable and viewed in the bottom left. The actual depth is shown in the middle of the screen and is not interrupted except in decompression stop or alert situations.

|
Q -
Does the Zoop come with full operating instructions please
A -
Yes, this product will come complete with instruction manual.

Q -
Hi
Probably a really silly question, but I see the suunto zoop has a 30 second sampling rate... Does this have any effect on the information shown during a dive? ie is the depth shown the current depth or what it was at the sample interval? Many thanks.
A -
The sample rate is the "snap shot" taken of dive for playing back and reviewing your dive profile later.
The Sample rate on some computers is variable (5 secs, 10 secs, 30 secs etc..) so that you can choose how much information your record for plotting your dive profile later. The more sample points taken during a dive the more accurate the graph of your dive profile. It is worth noting that
It is worth noting that the more sample points requires more memory and as such less dives can be stored in the computers log. As a result many divers leave variable rates set at 30 seconds to maximise on memory.
The Sample rate does not effect the computers calculations during the dive - this is a constant process.

Q -
Does the Suunto-Zoop have the capacity or adaptability with an accessory to give tank air pressure readings during a dive?
A -
Hi, the Suunto Zoop does not support air integration by any method. You will need to opt for the Vyper Air or Cobra 3 if you require air integration
|
|
Q -
How many dives does the memory save? By this I mean if i don't buy the computer software to go with it, if I then did how many dives would it remember? Cheers, Dan
A -
Hi, The Zoop will show the amount of dives completed, the hours completed and the max depth, but in truth the commit to memory depends on how much your sample rate is but it tends to be approx. 36 hours.
|
|
Q -
what extra do you get from the vyper over the zoop for the extra £30.
A -
The only differences between the Zoop and the Vyper are that the Vyper has a Dive Simulator (great for learning how to use the computer) and a backlight. All other fetaures are essentially the same.

Q -
Hello again, i have some more questions about the zoop dive computor [ 19121 ] what is the maximium depth this will go to / read, also my eyesight is"nt what it used to be is this easy to read. Regards Trevor
A -
Hi, the Suunto Zoop is rated and will display the depth to 100m. The main display digits are pretty large and very clear making the numbers and other information easy to read.

Q -
Does the Suunto Zoop also operate as a watch? I'm looking for an affordable diver's watch with audible alarm & rubber strap, plus an entry level computer, for my daughter's 16th birthday present. She dives to 30m, on two - three holidays each year......she likes the Gekko so I wonder whether the Zoop might be suitable.
Many thanks for any help you can provide,
Sabra Ralph.
A -
The Zoop is too large to be worn as an everyday watch, although it does display the time it does not have any time alarms. It is purely a diving computer.
