Info on the Sherwood Scuba SR1 Regulator

The Sherwood SR1 Regulator is a high performance, fully balanced system with a piston design first stage for fast response and high flow rate. The SR1 first stage offers five low pressure ports (four around the the outside of the swivel turret and one on the end) and two high pressure ports. A dry sealed environmental seal provides extra protection from cold water and also contamination by preventing direct water interaction with the internal parts of the first stage.
 
The SR1 second stage has a pneumatically balanced valve to give excellent performance. The valve incorporates a SMART lever that releases the load from the valve seat when the regulator isn't being used. This helps to prolong the life of the valve seat and also helps to prevent a groove developing in the soft seat that can lead to excessive freeflowing. The second stage is also fitted with a multi purpose knob that allows quick simultaneous adjustment of both the inhalation effort and the venturi charateristics of the regulator, swapping from safe mode (for an octopus for instance) to maximum performance with a turn of the control knob.
 
The second stage is finished in a very appealing soft touch finish to give a unique look and feel.
