Info on the Scubapro Nova Light 230

The Nova Light 230 from Scubapro is a super powerful LED light with an output of 250 lumens and a burn time of 18 to 20 hours. A great scuba torch as it can be taken to a depth of up to 120 metres.

  • Constant current control circuit which provides the same brightness over the whole burn time, rather than dimming towards the end
  • 3 x C cells. Must be non rechargeable in accordance with instruction manual. Not included.
  • Maximum depth of 120m

did my first ever night dive and it was brilliant...

did my first ever night dive and it was brilliant you can definitely use it as a main light and back up light well built and easy to use !

I wanted a dive torch

I wanted a dive torch, but I didn't want a cheap one and buy twice. I'd seen the 230 in a dive shop and the other reviews were very positive, so I bought one when Simply Scuba had a deal on. The torch is pretty bright (I have nothing to compare it with though, except household torches which it trounces) and feels very solidly made. I've yet to use it in the water, but I can echo some of the concerns of others in that the provided lanyard looks pretty flimsy and the screw on/off action would mean that you might want to enter the water with it on and leave it that way until you get out to avoid the risk of flooding (however remote that would be in reality). Simply's service was a good as ever and the torch looks and feels good value, but I'll have to reserve ultimate judgement until I get a chance to dive with it.

A great torch

A great torch. I recently used this on a wreck dive and it was great for peeking inside the nooks and crannies which were too small to enter. A powerful beam which travels quite far, also works great as a pointer to attract your buddies attention, just make sure not to shine it in anyone's eyes. Definitely a good buy for an occassional wreck diver.
