Info on the Mares Quattro Excel Plus

The Quattro Excel + from Mares rediscovers the roots of its noble ancestor, the Avanti Quattro. Thus, a new fin is born, and thanks to its fully redesigned foot pocket, it offers both propulsive force and unbeatable comfort. The back of the foot pocket is made of soft rubber, further increasing comfort and performance.
 

Features

Elastic OPB causes blade to flex at an optimal angle during the upward and downward strokes increasing the efficiency of the divers kicks.
  • The Superchannel blade is designed with a large flexible central Superchannel propelling water-flow more efficiently down the fin blade instead of letting it spill over the sides for optimal performance and minimal diver effort.
  • Channel Thrust technology maximizes the channeling of water and moves a much greater amount of water compared to other fins of the same size. The result is greater thrusting power with the same amount of effort.
  • Easy to open buckle, even when wearing thick neoprene gloves. The double button release prevents the buckle from accidentally opening. The most user friendly in the market.
  • Ergonomically designed foot pocket delivers maximum power and evenly distributes pressure over the foot to minimize fatigue. Interior, features internal ribbing that improves fit eliminate foot suction and prevent foot pocket flexing. Transmits more power to the blade.
  • Superior performance, maximum elasticity, high durability, and resistance to ageing.
  • Vertical ribs that anchor the blade through the kick cycle to eliminate side to side wobbling effect, keeping your kicks stable and reducing power loss. Eliminates ankle-twisting phenomena.

I really liked it until I get to dive with...

I really liked it until I get to dive with the Mares Quattro Plus. The excel happened to stress my calf significantly more than the Quattro Plus and its heavier to kick while the power they give almost the same. It think it is because the Excel foot pocket is slightly shorter that the boot couldn't accommodate my heel completely. The durability is a bit off because I started to see the plastic part at the fin blade started to tore out of the rubber. However, I think this fin is really good looking.

Love these fins

Love these fins, they are so comfortable and easy to get on and off. Brilliant propultion under water and of course the colour is great (pink and black)
