Atomic Aquatics introduces "ARC lens technology" in the Ultra-Clear mask line. All Atomic Aquatics masks come standard with our special Ultra-Clear optical quality glass with exceptional clarity, light transmission, and no color distortion. ARC technology coatings further improve this already incredible lens material by reducing reflections and by allowing more light in the diving mask. We introduced Ultra-Clear to the diving industry and have never used low cost, poor quality green float glass like the other masks on the market.

What is ARC lens technology?
Anti-Reflective Coatings or "ARC" is a multi-layer metal oxide coating process applied to both sides of the Ultra-Clear lenses. This allows more light to enter the mask by reducing light reflections off the inside and outside surface of the lens. The metal oxide coating is only a few microns thick.

Why do you need ARC lens technology lenses?
Between 4-12% of light can be reflected back or "lost" by the standard "green float glass" mask lenses used by our competition. ARC technology lenses are especially important for SCUBA divers underwater, where available light is quickly absorbed by the surrounding water.

What will ARC technology lenses do for you?
  • Clearer, crisper vision. You will see more clearly underwater and objects in the distance will become more defined and acute.
  • Increased contrast and clarity.
  • Reduces eyestrain, glare, and prevents ghost images on the viewing area of the lens.
  • An absolute must for night diving, limited visibility conditions, and underwater photographers.

Posted by Simon Miller - 5th June 2013
I have read mixed reviews about this mask but I can't fault it. Before diving I just used McNet sea drops and there was no issue with fogging. It was expensive but definitely worth it.

Posted by David Shearer - 18th October 2012
Mine started leaking around the frame after 15 dives (9 months)from purchase. I am sending it back to Atomic to see whether they honour their so called lifetime guarantee. I regret buying it now.

I am really pleased with mine

    Posted by Paul - 23rd January 2010
I am really pleased with mine, i have had it a couple of years now. This is not a standard mask, it is a precision instrument which does out perform other masks on the market especially on night dives and poorly lit environments. It depends what you demand from your kit. However, the ARC application can make it awkward to defog properly. What is recommended is PSI 500, both from Atomic and from Typhoon, the UK distributor, once this has been thoroughly cleaned you will not have a problem with it. i would not give it a 2nd thought to buy another one!!!

    Posted by Mark - 16th July 2009
the mask looks well designed but unfortunatly fogs up on your first dives. now i am using again my old and cheaper mask (which doesn't fog up) i have tried all trick on the atomic mask and started reading on various websites reports and recommendations on improving the visability of atomic masks. i do not understand the company atomic of not giving out a recommandation to their custumers. it seems like they do not know themselves on what is best.

    Great mask really comfortable

    Posted by Danny - 17th March 2009
Great mask really comfortable. Only one problem tho you cannot use tooth paste to reduce the chances of it fogging up because it will remove the ARC coating also found spitting in it doesn’t work ether therefore I am using anti-fog which works great!!
