Info on the Aqua Lung Mikron Man

The Aqua Lung Mikron is one of the smallest and lightest fully balanced diaphragm configuration regulator currently available that has been specifically designed for travel. The Mikron regulator uses a combination of composite materials, metal and it's incredibly small size to significantly reduce the the overall weight of the regulator without affecting the performance.
 
The first stage is fitted with four low pressure ports and one high pressure ports and the second stage features an adjuster to control the inhalation effort required to open the valve.
 
The small size and low weight of the Aqua Lung Mikron also makes this travel regulator a great choice for children and young adults that are uncomfortable with a standard sized system.

  • Compact dimensions and low weight blend comfort with a unique diving experience
  • A new, braided hose, weighing less than 5 oz., provides flexibility, comfort and excellent packability
  • The Mikron is available in two colors including the new pink vanilla that matches the new Pearl i3 BC
  • The pink vanilla version features a new, smaller Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece designed for smaller mouths. If you are one of those that doesn't care for the Comfo-bite's™ silicone bridge which fits across the upper palate, it can now be detached
  • The first stage is a balanced diaphragm type that sports one HP port (7/16) and 4 MP ports (3/8)
  • The second stage is pneumatically balanced to provide top performance
  • The second stage has an adjustment knob that allows the diver to optimize the opening effort. In the "Mini" position, the opening effort is increased, which is ideal for avoiding free flows. In the "Maxi" position, the inhalation effort is reduced, reducing the work of breathing
  • The reduced size and weight makes the Mikron the ideal choice for children and young adults
  • Supplied with standard length low pressure hose

I've had one of these for a couple of years now and its performed faultlessly. I had the DIN version and added a Scubapro alloy A clamp adapter for when DIN tanks aren’t available. I fitted Miflex hoses to keep the weight down and keep my teeth in my mouth. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough...

I know I

I know I'm not supposed to review the regulator as I haven't used it yet--still saving for next trip.I have tried it on dry land--using a cylinder---and found the breathing effortless.The main thing I have been impressed with,is the size and "packability".I usually backpack on extended trips,so obviously pack as light as possible---this new rig packs to, at most,half the size of the old one--and must be a third lighter.I can see it being a real boon when I finally get back on the road(and blowing bubbles,of course).

Very nice

Very nice, dry at all angles with very little work required to get a nice flow of air into the mouth. Lightweight, so no sore jaws. Fitted with a Miflex hose this really is a comfortable reg and I'd thoroughly recommend it.
