Review I watched these DVDs along with reading the OWD manual and filling in the knowledge reviews before I went on holiday to take the OWD course. Had to watch the DVD at the dive centre so they were sure I had done my homework. I completed the OWD course in 2 days with a 98% pass mark, thi gave me the confidence to take my AOW. So in 2 weeks from non-diver to Advanced, I have to recommend this DVD to all that want to learn to dive. Ignore the cheesy acting in some places and ignore the PADI sales pitch at the end of the second DVD.

Review A useful supplement to the OWD course manual. Easy to watch and understand, with an element of humor along with the seriousness of the material. A professional product and well worth having to clarify any sticky points that you don't get from reading the manual alone.

Review A useful and informative review of what is entailed in the PADI Open Water Course all bit that it has a strong American bias to it. I bought it to refresh my knowledge after a break of over 15 years from diving and to introduce my 14 y.o. and 12 y.o kids to what might be involved in taking the course. It did the job admirably with both kids "sailing" through the test in just 4 days and me renewing a great affection for the sport.

Review Excellent for beginners or people that have done just the Try Dive day, or even people that haven't dived for a long time. Very intuitive, BUT! This only covers the main points, NOT the full details that you need in order to pass the test. You will still need to read the Open Water book in order to get the in-depth points, e.g. how to use the RecreationalDivePlanner. One thing about this DVD that helped me immensely, was that after my first day of the course I got nervous, in the pool training, I paniced a little regarding Mask Clearing. So I went back to the hotel, watched the DVD again, and actually the calm, cool, clear voice of the narrator along with the calmy made movie really did calm me down, and help persuade me to go back the next day with a more confident mind and go onto complete the course and even go onto the Advanced course too!
