Review Realised that it's a heavyweight - not so good for travel!

Review This reel is fantastic and is easy to use . Yes it takes a couple of minutes to get used to how it locks and the friction settings but it's well worth the effort. My bro just passed is OW last month and also found it very easy to use. I've used the local school's reels which are 2/3rds of the price of this reel but I'm glad I spent the extra money.

Review Nice reel but let down by the ratcheting mechanism, as after 6 months use due to wear (plastic parts) it now slips allowing the line out again when on safety stops. So after a short period of use allready failing!

Review The performance of this reel is not very good. It is difficult to use and after a few dives, despite cleaning seizes up. It is expensive and not very practical, I would consider something else.

Review Have the rest of the people who reviewed this ever dived with it? This is quite simply the worst piece of dive equipment i have ever come across - avoid like the plague!!! Sturdy it may be but the folks at scubapro must have designed the locking mechanism at the pub. In order to release the line the metal middle section of the handle needs to be pushed through the plastic outer grip and held with a pin that never goes in. The pin also comes out very reluctantly when you want to put the lock back on. And its overpriced. If you just want to let up an SMB get a spool, else buy something that works.
