Thinking of going further with your diving career or just want to know that you can assist if an incident occurs? Then the PADI Junior Rescue Diver Course is for you!

The PADI Junior Rescue Diver course is designed to develop your dive knowledge and skills to effectively perform diver rescues and assists, as well as teach you to manage diving accident situations and apply first aid skills. It is very much a hands on course, with role-playing to gain the experience needed for most dive incidents.

The PADI rescue Diver program takes 3 or more days to complete and is divided into three main areas.

1. Academic Knowledge Development gained through independent study and classroom presentations.
2. Confined Water Practical Skills tuition.
3. Open Water Scenario Assessments.

COURSE OUTLINE

The course starts with your pre-course independent study of the Rescue Diver Manual including all quizzes and Knowledge Reviews, which must be completed prior to the first day of your course.

Formal course days are divided between academic classroom knowledge development sessions, confined water skills training, followed by assessment practical application at open water through staged scenarios.

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES
 

To participate in the rescue training sessions in open water, and to participate in the open water rescue scenarios, the student must be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification beyond entry level (at least two certifications total), with proof of 20 or more logged dives documenting experience in deep diving and underwater navigation.

Prior to Knowledge Development Presentation Two and Rescue Training Session Two, the PADI Rescue Diver course student diver must successfully complete a sanctioned course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR-Primary Care) and basic first aid (Secondary Care) within the past two years (24 months).

Minimum age: 14 for Junior Divers

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW.
 

Like all training courses where certain levels of performance are required to pass it is important to realize that you must reach the required levels of proficiency for each aspect of the course in order for the instructor to certify you, (just like on a driving test). If you fail to achieve the required standards we will endeavour to give you the opportunity for further training, however this would incur additional cost.

*Participants under 16 years must be accompanied on the course by a parent or legal guardian.

All participants are responsible for their own transportation arrangements between the dive centre and either the pool or the respective dive sites used during this course.

WHAT IS NEXT?

Gaining your Rescue Diver qualification is quite an achievement, and shows your commitment to diving and your fellow divers.

Or If you wish you can concentrate on specialist areas of interest, and upon gaining 5 such specialty ratings and with a minimum of 50 logged dives, plus Rescue Diver means you can apply for the prestigious Master Scuba Diver Rating Certification, the highest non-professional level within the PADI system.
