If you use the standard Recreational Dive Planner, or RDP, your
dive profile is presumed to be straight down to your maximum depth
for the full duration of your dive followed by a straight ascent,
ideally with a safety stop, prior to exiting the water. In reality,
especially if you are diving a varied underwater topography, your
dive profile will more likely to be, drop down to your maximum
planned depth for a time, followed by a gradual stepped ascent over
the remainder of the dive time.
So why be penalised by your end
pressure grouping? Become a multilevel diver; learn to use
the RDP Wheel and dive computers, gain credit for the time
spent at shallower depths during your dive. Dive more whilst staying
safe!
