scuba divers whizzing around on fantastic underwater vehicles and
mini subs! Well we cant offer you the mini submarines but why not
try the Underwater Diver Propulsion Vehicles. At Simply Scuba we can
give you the chance to experience the fun and thrills of these
exciting vehicles.
The
purpose of the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Speciality Course is to
familiarize divers with the skills, procedures, techniques,
problems, hazards and enjoyment of diving in open water with one of
these fantastic vehicles.

COURSE OUTLINE |
|
This course will enable the diver to use a DPV and
how to choose the right unit, Types of vehicles, Battery safety
tips, and Maintenance, Storage and Travel considerations. Other
aspects covered are Dive Planning and Safety Considerations, Vehicle
Failure, Runaway Motor, Pre-dive preparation, various entry
considerations, Dive procedures and techniques and post dive
considerations.
This course consists of two open water
dives and is purely practical in application.

COURSE TIMETABLE |

The precise time table for this course will
vary dependent upon the specific logistics of the dive site being
used for the course. It can normally be completed in one day. The
course will start and end at the Simply Scuba Dive
Centre.
Dive 1 consists of correct pre-dive preparation,
appropriate water entry with a DPV. Snorkeling and Diving Skills
specific to the correct use of a DPV, and correct post dive
maintenance of the DPV, whilst under supervision.
Dive 2 will
give the diver the chance to demonstrate their ability to
independently plan and execute a dive using a DPV according to the
procedures and safety guidelines. |

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES |

Participants
must hold a minimum diver certification of PADI Open Water Diver,
Junior Open Water Diver or an equivalent rating. Minimum age is
12 years*. A confined water training session may be required, at
the discretion of the instructor conducting the course, to verify
participants skills level.

Dive site entrance fees.
Hire of a DPV and personal standard diving
equipment, such as Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Exposure Suit, BCD, Weights,
Regulators and Instrument console, Cylinder and Air Fills, for the
duration of the course.

Transportation from Simply Scuba dive centre to the selected dive
site venue is your responsibility.

photographs. Your log book and proof of your current level of diving

PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Specialty Course is part of the PADI
Diver Continuing Education Program, designed to encourage divers to
further their Knowledge and Skills under the safe supervision of
professional instructors. It combines well with other such courses

Peak Performance Buoyancy Diver Specialty Course.
